COLLINWOOD CONSTRUCTION Ltd

High Street, Girton

This project involved the construction of two

significant extensions to an existing residential property

An open-plan DIY kitchen extension and a two-storey extension that includes an ensuite.

The goal was to create a contemporary space that maximised natural light and integrated seamlessly with the existing structure.

The design, vision, and planning were all

customer-driven, with the homeowner taking the initiative to create their own CAD drawings and

carefully curating the aesthetics and functionality of both extensions.
Cladding & Architectural Style:

While the kitchen extension features just the vertical cladding, the two-storey extension features a combination of vertical and horizontal cladding,

continuing the modern aesthetic throughout the

property. This creates a unified look while adding texture and visual interest.
    •    Large Windows: As with the kitchen extension, large windows were strategically placed to allow natural light to flood the space. These windows also offer views of the surrounding environment,

providing a connection with nature and bringing a sense of tranquility to the interior.
    •    Ensuite Design: The ensuite bathroom features modern fixtures and finishes, with a focus on clean lines and an open, airy feel.
    •    Two Storeys: The extension maximizes the available space, offering an additional bedroom on the second floor, a huge gable window allows in the outdoors and the high vaulted ceiling with veluxes really brings the outdoors in.
Construction Process:
The construction process was meticulously planned to ensure the extensions were completed on time and to the highest standards. The homeowner’s hands-on involvement in the design, including the creation of CAD drawings, ensured that their vision was translated into reality. While this project had a great deal of input from the homeowner,

professional contractors were brought in to handle the more complex structural and technical aspects, ensuring everything met building codes and

regulations.
